Kabir Adeniji’s early effort was enough to help newcomers Niger Tornadoes pick all three points and condemn Plateau United’s new manager Fidelis Ilechukwu to defeat in their opening game of the 2021-22 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Adeniji struck 13 minutes into the fixture with what proved to be the winner for the Minna side.

Ironically, Ilechukwu handed Adeniji his first taste of top-flight action in the 2018-19 season as MFM manager but there was no place for old friendships on Sunday as the striker ensured a disappointing afternoon for his old manager.
