NPFL: Abubakar Bala Quits Kwara United

Abubakar Bala has resigned as head coach of struggling Kwara United with immediate effect after just 14 months in charge of the club.

His decision follows the team’s goalless draw in Ilorin against visitors, Lobi Stars in a Match Day 17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash on Sunday.

The result leaves Kwara United in 10th spot (relegation zone) in Group A of the NPFL log with 20 points from 17 matches, and 3 points away from safety. The Harmony Boys have won only five matches so far this season, drawing 5 and losing seven.

They next face table-topping Rangers in Enugu on Wednesday, with the possibility of plunging into further danger.

Bala replaced John Obuh at the club in March 2018 after previously coaching Niger Tornadoes, a team he guided to the final of the 2017 Aiteo Cup.
