NPFL 21: Omoyele Sinks Former Side Plateau Utd To Send Enyimba Six Clear

Tosin Omoyele proved the tormentor-in-chief against former side Plateau United as his brace helped Enyimba open up a six point lead at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League with a 2-1 win in Aba Matchday 9.

Omoyele’s three-minute brace scored in the 27th and 30th minutes made it three goals in as many games for the forward who joined 8-times Nigerian champions Enyimba from Plateau United in the off-season and only opened his account for them on Matchday 7.

Moses Effiong pulled one back for the visitors in the 73rd minute but Enyimba held on to claim a fourth victory on the bounce.

Defeat was a second consecutive reverse for Plateau United after a three-game unbeaten run and the Jos side will drop out of the top ten if their rivals win their game in hand on Sunday.

Enyimba, meanwhile, are six points clear with 21 points from nine games although the teams below can cut their lead down to three points with victories in their Matchday 9 fixtures.
