“NO FEAR” FOR VAN DIJK AS LIVERPOOL PREPARE TO FACE PSG IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has sounded out a warning to PSG that Liverpool will show no fear when both sides meet in their Champions League showdown tomorrow.

The Merseysiders who have the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League would be looking to take their fine form to Paris to face the French champions and runaway league leaders.

“I don’t have any fear. We respect them as a team but the thing is we want to win the game. Van Dijk said, “We are going to be totally up for it, motivated and we will make sure we are ready from the start.

“We don’t need to forget that we are one of the best teams in Europe as well.”

Liverpool top group C, and although they have lost each of their last two away Champions League away games (Napoli and Red Star Belgrade), a win for Jurgen Klopp’s men against PSG will see them safely through to the knockout stages. PSG have been beaten just once this season, at Liverpool back in September.

PSG are third but just two points separate all four teams. Van Dijk added: “We reached the final last year and we want to do at least the same this year. That’s our goal. So we are going to try. Try and beat them.”
