NNL Super 4: Jigawa Golden Stars to Pay .N2Million For Misconduct

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has slammed a fine of N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand naira only) on Jigawa Golden Stars for misconduct after Technical Adviser Rabiu Tata failed to turn up for the mandatory post-match conference following their 7-8 penalty loss to Adamawa United in the postseason NNL Super 4 tournament currently holding in Enugu.

The Compliance Unit of the NNL determined Golden Stars to be in breach of its regulations and stipulated that the fine be paid on or before their classification match against Warri Wolves on Sunday, 15 September.

NNL Chief Operating Officer Lawrence Katken condemned Tata’s conduct and warned other clubs and coaches in the tournament to ensure complete compliance with laid down regulations.

“We condemn this in its entirety and warn other coaches or clubs to desist from such behaviour,” he said.

The season-ending NNL Super 4 which determines the 2018/2019 league champions comes to a close on Sunday with Adamawa United and Akwa Starlets contesting for the league crown in the final at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
