Nigeria’s Handball Premier League Gets Third Takeoff Date

The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has announced a new date for the first phase of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League.

The first phase of the new season will now takeoff on May 7th and end on the 18th of May, 2019 and will be played at the National Stadium, Abuja according to correspondence sent by the HFN to the competing clubs.

Competing teams are expected to arrive on the 6th with departure set for the 19th of May, 2019.

All participating teams are expected to ensure that registration and transfer formalities are completed before the commencement of the first phase of the league.

The new date marks the third time a takeoff date for the new season has been proposed.

The start of the 2019 season had been shifted on two occasions; firstly on account of the National U18 and U21 teams who will competing at the IHF Intercontinental Challenge Trophy in Kosovo and secondly as a result Nigeria’s participation in the All Africa Games Qualifiers billed for Burkina Faso from April 28th to May 4th, 2019.
