Nigerian Striker Olayinka Joins Slavia Prague

Nigerian striker Peter Olayinka has joined Czech Republic outfit Slavia Prague from Gent.

The 22-year-old becomes a Slavia Prague player after signing a four-year contract in a €3.2m deal from Belgian top flight side Gent.

His transfer was confirmed by the club’s website on Saturday.

Peter Olayinka moved from Skendebeu Korce of Albania to Gent in a €1.1m deal in 2016 but didn’t make any competitive appearance for the Belgian Pro League side.

He was sent out on loan twice to Dukla Prague of Czech Republic and Zulte Waregem of Belgium.

Peter Olayinka scored six goals in 29 appearances during his first loan spell at Dukla Prague before hitting seven goals in 20 games for Zulte Waregem last season.

In his first interview as a Slavia Prague player, he said: “I am very happy, when I learned about going to Slavia and returning to Prague, I was happy and it attracts me because Slavia is the biggest club in Czech football.”

“When I was in Dukla, Slavia became the champion of the league. I can imagine that Slavia will once again be a champion and I want to be part of the team.

“It’s a great chance for me. Slavia is a club where I can become a champion.” He concluded.
