Nigerian Midfielder Pens Deal To Wear SACRED Mantle On Valentine’s Day

Nigeria’s Christy Ucheibe will be wearing Benfica’s sacred mantle after penning a three and half year deal with the Portuguese side.
Benfica jerseys are known as “Manto Sagrado” meaning Sacred Mantle by natives of Portugal.
After helping Swedish club Assi to win the Norrbetten Cup in 2019, the 19-year-old made a move to a dominant Benfica women team on a free transfer.
Ucheibe represented Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in France and scored two goals in 25 games for her former club during her one-year spell in Sweden.
The former Nassarawa Amazons midfielder is expected to face Super Falcon’s Chinaza Uchendu when her team locks horn with Braga on matchday 15 in the Liga BPI.
Benfica currently sit at the summit of the Portuguese women top tier with 42 points but have Sporting CP and FC Braga following closely behind.
