Kidnappers Release Samson Siasia’s Mother (PHOTOS)

Kidnappers have reportedly released the mother of former Super Eagles international and Gaffer Samson Siasia three weeks after collecting a ransom of 1.5 million naira.

“The situation is pathetic. Nothing has changed.” Siasia revealed three weeks ago in Abuja.

“We paid N1.5 million for her release but instead of releasing my mother they released my cousin’s mother-in-law (66-year-old Florence Donana) and also captured the person that took the money to them.”

Siasia, who was recently banned for life by FIFA for matchfixing, however, confirmed in a chat with leading sports journalist Godwin Enakhena on Sunday that his mother and others affiliated with him have now regained their freedom.

“Received a call from my wife this morning that my mom and others have been released. I am grateful to Nigerians for their prayers and to everyone that had a hand directly or indirectly in their release,” Siasia reportedly told Mr Enakhena.

“My mom is fine but she has to go for medical checkup. I can now shift focus to the FIFA issue”.

Mrs Beauty Ogere was abducted on July 15 by heavily armed gunmen who invaded her Odoni country home in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State according to a Nigerian Newspaper web platform.
