Nigerian-Born Striker Akpom Finally Leaves Arsenal For PAOK

Nigerian-born England striker Chuba Akpom has finally left Premier League giants Arsenal for PAOK Salonika in Greece.

The 22-year-old joins PAOK from the Gunners after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract in a deal believed to be around £2m.

He ends his 16-year stay in North London having joined the club at the age of six.

The Arsenal Academy graduate had been loaned to several clubs like Brentford, Coventry City, Nottingham Forest, Hull City and Brighton & Hove Albion before he enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Belgian club Saint Truiden in the second half of last season where he scored six goals in 16 appearances.

PAOK FC won the race to sign him ahead of other European clubs.

Chuba Akpom will make his debut for the club in the first leg of their Champions League third round clash with Spartak Moscow of Russia on Tuesday.

He has been given the no. 47 shirt for the season.
