Nigeria, Ghana Battle For ICC World T20 Supremacy

Old rivalries will be rekindled when Nigeria and Ghana face each other at the International Cricket Council World T20 Africa qualifier “A” after the two nations recorded two wins over The Gambia and Sierra Leone respectively.

The two teams will battle each other for who tops the four-team tournament on Tuesday by 1:50pm at the prestigious Tafawa Balewa Cricket Oval in Lagos.

While speaking on the encounter, the Ghanaian Cricket National Cricket Team Captain Isaac Aboagye revealed that his team is motivated to take maximum points. In his words, he said: “We are not strangers to playing Nigeria and we are promising our fans back home and those who would be at the venue of a famous victory.”

“Though I am aware that Nigeria are the home team and they also boast of some exceptional players such as: Saheed Akolade, Chimezie Onwuzulike, Dotun Olatunji, Ademola Onikoyi but in Cricket names do not play the game and we are a hungrier side.” he added.

On his own part, the Nigerian Cricket National Team Vice Captain Ademola Onikoyi stated that their opponent. He said: “There is no gain saying that Nigeria/Ghana at any level be it football, cricket, rugby or any sports is very intense and on that premise we are not going to leave anything to chance”.

“It would be disrespectful on our part to underrate a team who won their team matches just as we did and based on that we are taking Tuesday’s game like a cup final.” he concluded.
