Niger Tornadoes’ New Sole Administrator Hoping on Divinity to Escape Relegation

Newly appointed sole administrator of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Niger Tornadoes Engr. Ibrahim Dada believes “God can” help the Ikon Allah Boys from experiencing a drop back to the second tier league of the country.

The government of the state decided to do away with the former management of the club shortly after sacking the team’s coach owing to a poor run of results and an unfitting record of a single win (against Sunshine Stars) so far in 13 League games.

Dada, who formerly served as the Vice Chairman of the Bosso Local Government Football Association is expected to steady the ship for the Minna based side who have barely nine games left to determine their fate in Nigeria’s topflight domestic league and the statement released prior the sack of the former management didn’t hide that fact.

“The Sole Administrator will work with the ministry to bring the club out of the relegation zone.’’

Reacting to the appointment, an optimistic Dada inferred to the herculean nature of the task at hand but expressed it wasn’t an impossible one.

“We are hoping we will be able to escape relegation but we will do our best and see what God can do for us.”

He went on to appreciate the Commissioner of Sports and Development, Emmanuel Barbur for trusting him with the rather sensitive responsibility while seeking for the support and cooperation of everyone affiliated to the Minna based team.

“I want to appreciate everybody, our honorable commissioner precise. I can’t do it alone. It’s the cooperation of every individual that I want and once I have your cooperation, the sky will be our beginning and not our limit,” He concluded.

Dada’s first assignment will be against Rivers United at the Yakubu Gowon stadium as the Ikon Allah Boys – currently bottom of the 2019 NPFL Group B log with 10 points from 13 matches – hope to find their way out of the murky waters of relegation.
