NFF Crisis: Giwa Vows To Fight On Despite Sack

Ambassador Chris Giwa has resolved to continue to fight for his mandate despite being ejected from the NFF Secretariat by DSS Operatives on Monday.

Chris Giwa and his board members have been in a leadership tussle with the Amaju Pinnick-led board for the better part of the last four years.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick had been in charge until July 2 when Giwa took over on the orders of Sports Minister Solomon Dalung.

He had directed that a Supreme Court ruling opposed to the reign of Pinnick should be enforced.

DSS operatives ejected Chris Giwa on the orders of the presidency and his sack is coming on the back of FIFA’s threat to ban Nigeria from all football-related activities if the nation continues to work against FIFA Statutes.

Ambassador Chris Giwa was speaking about his forceful ejection from the Glass House in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.

In his words, he said: “By the grace of God, we employed patience to go through the judicial system of the land as guaranteed by Article 1.1 of the NFF Statute to reach where we are.”

“Except if the law and the judiciary is no more significant, can what happened on Monday be allowed. Evil will not thrive over good.

“I urge our friends, allies and supporters to remain calm. Truth shall return to the centre stage in a couple of hours.

“What you have seen is like the different scenes in a Nollywood film. All I know is that the rule of law will not lie low against the rule of might and influence peddling.’’ Chris Giwa concluded.
