Paris Saint Germain (PSG) superstar Neymar lasted for just 15 minutes before limping out of Brazil’s training session in Sochi, Russia on Tuesday.
The ex-Barcelona forward was playing keep-away with some of his teammates before he suddenly limped out of training toward the dressing room.
Team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar thereafter revealed that he left training as a precaution after feeling soreness while jogging.
In his words, Lasmar said: “What we can do is to calm down.”
“A shorter workout was planned for the starters today, they’re still in a regenerative process. Neymar trained a little, felt the pain, returned to physical therapy and tomorrow trains normally.” He added.
He will undergo further physiotherapy sessions later on Tuesday in a bid to get him ready for Wednesday afternoon’s training session.
The five-time champions face Costa Rica on Friday in their second World Cup Group E game hoping to secure as their first win of the tournament and Brazilian fans would be hoping their talisman is fit to feature against the CONCACAF representatives.
