The Zenith Bank Women Basketball League has seen six teams from the Enugu and Abuja centres book their place in the National Final which will take place in Lagos.

Following days of competition in the Atlantic conference (Enugu) and Savannah conference (Abuja), 6 Qualifiers emerged for the Final 6. In the Atlantic, current league champions, First Bank, Dolphins and new entrant Mountain of Fire all of Lagos booked their place for the final showdown.

Despite a loss in the conference final in Enugu against First Bank Women basketball, Dolphins still qualified as one of the finalists. Meanwhile, newcomers, MFM Basketball club led by Coach Aderemi Adewunmi shocked 2017 league runners-up, First Deepwater in the 3rd place battle to pick the last available ticket from the Enugu centre.

Customs enjoyed an unbeaten run in the conference phase of the Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League to seal their place.

Plateau Rocks alongside Kaduna Angels also surmounted all obstacles on their way to sealing their spots out of the 12 teams that participated in the Savannah Conference in Abuja.

The National final 6 of the Zenith Bank Women Basketball League will begin on November 4 and conclude on November 7, with the winner and first runner-up representing Nigeria at the 2018 FIBA Africa Club Championship for women.
