Newcastle United have ended a 10-game losing run against Arsenal after they won 2-1 at home in their Premier League Matchday 34 clash at the St. James Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners took an early lead through Alexander Lacazette before Newcastle United bounced back with a near post finish from Spanish forward Ayoze Perez as both sides played out a 1-1 draw at halftime.

The home side stepped up the momentum in the second half and they were rewarded with Matt Ritchie’s right-footed finish.

Rafael Benitez’s side thereafter held on for an impressive win to end their 10-game losing run against the Gunners dating back to 2010.

The win was the first at home against Arsenal for the first time in 13 years (2005).
