Ndidi Set To Return Eagles Training After Hamstring Injury

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is recovering faster than expected from injury and will soon return to Super Eagles training as the team steps up preparation for this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Ndidi missed the end of last season with a hamstring injury and was previously a doubt for Russia 2018 before he was named on a 30-man provisional World Cup list by head coach.

An update on his injury status was provided on Thursday by the Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye who said via afp that: “In a couple of days, he will join the full training.”

“He is running well without any pains, he has recovered faster than we expected.

“He is now being loaded slowly and gradually to build his match fitness.” he concluded.

He is presently training on his own in the Uyo camp of the Super Eagles until he has been certified fit to join in full training.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will leave Uyo for Port Harcourt on Saturday ahead of Monday’s friendly with DR Congo though Ndidi is not expected to play any part other than cheerleading against the Congolese.
