NCF Sees ‘Positives’ In Yellow Greens’ Winless ICC T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier Campaign

The Nigeria Cricket Federation believes the future remains bright for the national team despite their failure to win a single match at the just concluded ICC T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier in Kigali.

The Yellow Greens were thwarted in their bid to claim the sole qualification ticket on offer at the tournament as they lost all six double-headers against Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

It was the team’s first competitive outing under Sri Lankan coach Asanka Gurusinha who was appointed last year and despite the Yellow Greens failure to muster a single win in Kigali, the NCF claims there are plenty positives to be taken from their performances.

“Results did not go as expected, but the young team can be proud of their experience and take the positives as Nigeria will return to the drawing board,” the NCF said in a statement.
