All is now set for the serve off of the second edition of the Mutual Benefits National Badminton Championship organised by the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) from 13th to 17th November 2018 at the Mutual Benefits/Police Badminton Hall, Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.
The tournament which is in its second year was originally scheduled to hold between the 6th and 10th of September but was postponed as a result of a clash in dates with the West African University Games where many young players were competing in.
The five-day tournament will see honours competed for in the Men’s Singles (MS), Women’s Singles (WS), Men’s Doubles (MD), Women’s Doubles (WD) and Mixed Doubles (XD) with no player allowed to participate in more than two events.
A total prize money of #2.67 million will be competed for at the event with the champions of the men and women singles event bagging #150,000 each. According to the organisers of the championship, there will also be cash rewards for athletes who finish between second and sixteenth positions.
