Napoli Title Ship Capsizes In Florence

Italian Serie A title challengers Napoli have been dealt a huge blow in the bid to usurp league leaders Juventus at the top of the table after they were beaten 3-0 by their hosts Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday evening.

A win for Napoli could have taken Maurizio Sarri’s men to within one point of Juventus at the top of the table but their target received a massive hit when Senegal International defender Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off in the eighth minute prompting the home side to take full advantage.

Giovanni Simeone made the numerical advantage count with his 34th minute opener before he added a second half brace to complete his hattrick in the Matchday 35 clash in Florence.

Juventus now need two wins from the last three league games to retain their title as they would be crowned champions again ahead of Napoli.
