Mourning Monday for Lobi Stars as Coach Solomon Ogbeide is Confirmed Dead

Nigeria’s sole representative at the 2018/2019 CAF Champions League have lost their charismatic coach, Solomon Ogbeide after he slumped due to low blood pressure.

The tragic news broke when fans and spectators suspected that the head coach, was absent from the technical area at the Aper Aku Stadium against Wikki Tourist in Makurdi, Benue state.

Reports gathered indicate that Ogbeide had earlier on Monday morning complained of ill health before his sudden death.

The seasoned gaffer guided Lobi Stars to be named champions of the 2017/18 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season after the league ended abruptly, becoming eventual champions of the Super Cup after defeating Enugu Rangers.

The Pride of Benue currently sit second in Group A of the abridged 2018/2019 NPFL table with 31 points from 20 matches.

The club is yet to release any statement regarding the news due to being engaged in a match with Wikki Tourists as at the time of filing this report.
