Former Inter Milan and Crystal Palace manager Frank De Boer has revealed that Jose Mourinho is not the right manager to get the best out of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

Rashford had been under immense criticisms of late and went a long way to silence the doubters with an impressive performance as he helped Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday by scoring a brace.

While speaking about Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and Rashford with BT Sport, De Boer said: “It’s a pity that the manager is Mourinho, because he’s an English player and you want him to be given time.”

“He can make mistakes but Mourinho is not like that and if he has one or two not good games then he puts him out.

“He’s very young, he needs games. But he’s so talented and you want to see him play every week.” he concluded.

Marcus Rashford has struggled to nail down a starting shirt at Manchester United this season with the majority of his appearances coming as a substitute but he has still managed to score six league goals.
