Mourinho Gives Paul Pogba Injury Update

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has declared that Paul Pogba will miss “few weeks’ of action following the Frenchman’s injury in United’s Champions League Opener against FC Basel.

Pogba, who captained Manchester United on the night, was substituted in the 18th minute with a suspected hamstring injury after a collision with FC Basel midfielder and was later seen leaving Old Trafford on crutches.

Speaking to MUTV after the game, Mourinho said: “In my experience, muscular injury stops you from playing for a few weeks, I think. It looks for me too [like a hamstring injury] but I haven’t spoken yet to the medical department.”

“Squads are for this, squads are for injuries, squads are for suspensions. We don’t cry with injuries. So if no Paul for Sunday, we have Herrera, we have Carrick, we have Fellaini and we have Matic.” he concluded.

Manchester United started their Champions League campaign on a comfortable note as goals from substitute Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford earned United a 3-0 victory against the Swiss Champions at Old Trafford.
