Levante got their new Spanish La Liga campaign to a great start following the surprising 3-0 win over hosts Real Betis at the Estadio Benito Villamarin on Friday night.

Roger Marti gave the visitors the lead with seven first half minutes thus paving the way for the second half showing from captain Jose Luis Morales.

The goal was the first for the new Spanish La Liga season.

Morales added a second strike on 54 minutes with a superb solo goal that’s already a contender for goal of the season before he netted his brace in added time to make it a comprehensive win for Levante.

The win takes Levante to the top of the table temporarily before the other week 1 games this weekend.

In the earlier game on Friday, Catalan side Girona and newly promoted outfit Real Valladolid played out a goalless draw in what was the opening match of the new season.
