Milutin Sredojević “Micho” has terminated his contract as Manger of Ugandan national team. According to the Serb, FUFA owes him an equivalent of $64,000 (Ugsh230m) over six months.

Earlier in the week, Justus Mugisha, 1st Vice President of the Federation, told ESPN that in light of Sredojevic’s increased profile, they do not have the resources to afford him which might likely lead to his exit as manger of the cranes.

“We do not have the government fully supporting the national team and we always have to struggle to pay the coach. Micho’s profile has now increased since he qualified the team for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and we do not have the money to match what other people and clubs are ready to offer him.” Mugisha

The recent development has given fans of Orlando Pirates hope that Micho might return to the PSL team as there are reports he has agreed to a three-year contract with Pirates which will earn him about $50,000 (R650,000) per year in Johannesburg.

Uganda Cranes are in a decent position as they play to qualify for the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia. They currently are second in the third round of qualifiers with 4pts behind Egypt who top Group E.
