Milan Title Bid Falters After Sampdoria Defeat

San Siro giants AC Milan suffered a massive dent to their league title bid after they were beaten 2-0 at Sampdoria in a Matchday 6 clash played at the Estadio Luigi Ferraris.

Colombian striker Duvan Zapata broke the deadlock for the hosts with 18 minutes left on the clock before substitute Ricky Alvarez sealed the win in added time to maintain his team’s unbeaten start to the new league season while handing big spenders AC Milan a second league loss of the season.

The win takes Sampdoria above Lazio and Torino into 6th position with 11 points from 5 games while 7-time European champions AC Milan fail to move to within three points of early pacesetters Napoli and Juventus. Vicenzo Montella’s men stay in 5th position with 12 points from 6 games ahead of the remaining Matchday 6 fixtures.
