Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel believes Nigeria will do great things in the next World Cup in Qatar 2022, if they manage to qualify.

The Super Eagles crashed out of Russia 2018 after losing against Argentina on Tuesday night when they needed just a point to go through to the Round of 16.

Nigeria went to Russia with the youngest squad of all 32 nations and Mikel thinks the team will be ready to compete in Qatar.

“I think this is a great team.” said Mikel. “In the next four years this team will be really ready for the next World Cup if we manage to qualify”.

“I think this team will do great things and it’s just a shame that we couldn’t continue this amazing journey that we’ve had”.
