Mikel Obi Reiterates Commitment To Eagles

Super Eagles skipper John Mikel Obi has revealed how honoured he is to play for the team.

Mikel Obi was speaking via a brief statement to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as he reiterated his commitment to the team.

He said: “I am happy to be here. It is a huge privilege to play with this team and represent Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup.”

The former Chelsea midfielder was initially excused from Monday’s friendly with DR Congo in Port Harcourt but Mikel Obi proved his commitment to the Super Eagles cause by hiring the team’s Uyo camp some few days earlier than expected (Thursday).

After the DR Congo, Gernot Rohr and his boys will fly out to the English capital on May 30 (Wednesday) for a friendly against England at the Wembley Stadium on June 2 in continuation of their preparation towards this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.
