Mfon Udoh Tips Enyimba For Positive Result In CAFCC Clash With Williamsville

Enyimba captain Mfon Udoh is confident that the team can get a positive result in their CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) Group C clash with Ivorian side Williamsville at the Stade Robert Champroux on Sunday.

The two-time African champions are currently at the top of Group C with six points from three group matches and Mfon Udoh is certain that a win or draw will be crucial towards securing a place in the quarterfinals.

The former Akwa United star was speaking in a chat with Goal. He said: “This is a game we have prepared very for and we are hopeful of recording a good result in Abidjan because we now know our opponents better than before the first leg.”

“It is going to be a tough game because they won’t like to lose another game. They are a good side and they showed us that with the way they played without fear in Port Harcourt. We have trained very well and I think we are ready for this.

“We must believe in ourselves and play with courage knowing that a good result will be vital for our qualification for the quarter-final. We have the mentality and the strength to battle all obstacles. Williamsville can’t stop us because we know what we must do to record a positive result.” He added.

On the possibility of making a return from injury after 10 months, NPFL’s record goalscorer in a single season said: “It is going to be an emotional moment for me because so many thoughts had come through my head but I am grateful to God that he has interceded and has made me victorious.

“It is going to be difficult too knowing that I have stayed out for a long time. I am calm about everything and I just want to assure my fans that I won’t disappoint them. We are going to Abidjan to secure a result that will take us closer to the quarter-final stage.” He concluded.
