MFM Suffer Humiliating CAFCL Exit To MC Alger; Drop To CAFCC

MFM FC of Lagos will continue their continental campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) after they suffered a disappointing 6-0 loss to MC Alger in their CAF Champions League (CAFCL) 1st round, 2nd leg clash at the Stade 5 Juillet 1962 on Saturday night.

With the Fidelis Ilechukwu-led team leading 2-1 from the home leg, MFM just needed to avoid defeat but that proved to be far fetched as Sofiane Bendebka stunned the visitors within two minutes.

Walid Derragjada added a second goal before a brace from Amir Karaoui further strengthened MC Alger’s hold on the game.

The home side thereafter added two goals to make it an emphatic 6-0 victory and a 7-2 aggregate win over MFM thus condemning the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side to the second tier of continental football, CAFCC.
