MFM, Customs, First Bank and Dolphins Qualify For Women’s Basketball League Semis

The Women basketball teams of MFM, Customs, First Bank and Dolphins have all qualified for the semi-finals of the Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League.

MFM Women Basketball club will be looking to avenge their Conference phase semi-final defeat to Dolphins as they once again lock horns in the Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League Final 6 today in what promises to be an interesting matchup between both sides at the National Stadium, Lagos.

The newly formed MFM WBC became the first club to qualify for the semi-finals after a 56-49 victory over the experienced Nigeria Customs. They will be looking to cross the hurdle which Dolphins, who were 2015 league champions present.

Customs will hope to get redemption against defending champions, First bank, as they were only able to qualify for the semi-finals as the best loser.

First Bank Women Basketball Club who remain unbeaten proved their superiority in an 84-47 victory over Plateau Rocks to advance to the semifinals.

The winners from the two semi-final ties would play each other in the finals which hold tomorrow, Wednesday. While Plateau Rocks and Kaduna Angels will duel in a classification game also set for Wednesday.

The two finalists will represent Nigeria at the 2018 FIBA African Women Club Championship.
