Sevilla has clinched the final UEFA Europa League (UEL) spot on offer ahead of Getafe following their 1-0 win over Alaves at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Saturday.
Wissem Ben Yedder was the hero for the hosts as his first half strike was enough to take the maximum points at stake thus sealing a UEL spot at the expense of Getafe who won 1-0 at Malaga courtesy Loic Remy’s second half penalty.
In the pick of the other games, Substitutes Samuel Castillejo and Roger Martinez scored in the last 20 minutes to secure an impressive 2-2 comeback draw against Real Madrid.
The European champions had taken a 2-0 first half lead with goals from Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo before they were pegged back by the late goals in a match that was like a dress rehearsal before Saturday’s UEFA Champions League (UCL) final clash with English giants Liverpool.
