Manchester City Sweep Aside Hapless Arsenal To Stretch Lead

Premier League leaders Manchester City have stretched their lead at the top of the league to 16 points after they produced a sensational first half performance to sweep aside their hosts Arsenal 3-0.

Bernardo Silva shot the Citizens into the lead before David Silva and the impressive Sane added further goals to complement a phenomenal half of football from Pep Guardiola’s side.

It was the first time Arsenal will concede three first half goals in the Premier League era.

The North London side made a game of it after the interval and were handed a route back after Nicolas Otamendi brought down Henrikh Mkhitaryan but Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson made a decent save from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The convincing win takes Manchester City (75 points) sixteen points clear of city rivals Manchester United (59 points) while Arsenal are stuck in 6th spot with 45 points.
