Manchester City Star Collapses During Nigeria Game

Manchester City’s Argentina striker Sergio Aguero gave his national teammates a scare after he collapsed in the dressing room during the halftime interval of their 4-2 loss to the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday night.

Aguero had scored the 2nd goal for his side before former club teammate Kelechi Iheanacho netted on the stroke of halftime for a 2-1 scoreline in favour of Argentina at halftime.

The former River Plate and Atletico Madrid striker was immediately rushed to the hospital before he underwent tests. His team’s woes were further compounded when Nigeria scored three second half goals to win the game played at the Krasnodar Stadium in Russia 4-2.

The Argentine Football Federation (AFA) thereafter confirmed via a statement that Aguero was taken away for routine examinations and that the: “The player is well”.

On the game itself, Argentina manager was at a loss on how the game panned out while speaking after the game. He said: “It’s a difficult game to explain.”

“We could have been 3-0 or 4-0 ahead in the first half and we went in with a 2-1 lead.” he added.

Speaking further, the former Chile coach said: “My biggest worry was the way the team played when we were behind. I know we are capable and have the individual talent to be able to get out of these situations and I‘m worried about what happened tonight.

“We played an incredible first half but we lost our way in a match which could confuse a lot of people.” he concluded.
