Premier League champions Manchester City have completed the signing of teenage French midfielder Claudio Gomes from Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
The 18-year-old defensive midfielder joins the Citizens on a free transfer after his contract with the French champions expired.
Gomes, who has represented France at U16, U17 and U18 levels, has been training with Manchester City on their tour of the United States (US).
Guardiola spoke about Gomes in a chat with the Manchester Evening News.
In his words, the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss said: “He has been so good, so good.”
“My opinion is that at that age you have to play. You need minutes, if not with us then with the second team.
“But it could be like what happened with Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz – he could stay with us, because from what we have seen in these days, the impression is good, so good.” Guardiola concluded.
