Manchester City have confirmed the signing of highly-rated French left-back Benjamin Mendy from AS Monaco in a deal reported to be around £52m.

French international Mendy has signed a 5-year contract to join the City Revolution under their Spanish manager Pep Guardiola.

The 23-year old, who will wear jersey no. 22 at City, became a transfer target for a lot of European heavyweights after he helped Monaco to their first French Ligue 1 title in 17 years. In the end, Manchester City won the race for his signature.
