Lukaku Absent From Manchester United Training

Romelu Lukaku missed Manchester United training on Tuesday as Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba exhibited a public display of affection unity.

Out-of-form striker Lukaku has dropped for United’s victory over Everton 10 days ago.

Mourinho explained Lukaku’s absence from the squad that beat Bournemouth 2-1 at the weekend was down to an injury sustained last week and said the forward would be assessed following the game at the Vitality stadium.

Antonio Valencia and Marouane Fellaini, however, took part in training at Carrington, ahead of flying out to Turin for their Champions League Group H match against Juventus on Wednesday.

Valencia had been sidelined for a month while Fellaini picked up an injury on international duty with Belgium in October.

There was some contrast in Pogba’s entrance to United training from when cameras captured a frosty exchange between the pair barely two months ago, which followed the player being stripped of the vice-captaincy.

Instead, there was a handshake and a pat on the back from Mourinho this time.

Marcus Rashford also gave a demonstration of his skills during shooting practice.
