Lobi Stars Supporters Storm Enugu for Champions League Clash against Gor Mahia

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has approved the provision of free buses to convey Lobi Stars Football Club supporters to Enugu on Saturday, for the return leg of the club’s CAF Champions League match against Gor Mahia FC of Kenya.

The Governor said in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, that the decision to mobilise massive support for Lobi Stars was to boost their morale so as to enable them to overturn the 3-1 first leg defeat they suffered in Kenya.

He assured players and management of the club that the entire state stands behind them as they go into the encounter and expressed confidence in their ability to advance to the next round of the Champions League.

Chairman of the club and Deputy Governor of the state, Benson Abounu, is expected to lead the delegation to Enugu for the match.

The Governor called on football fans in Enugu and neighbouring states to troop into the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Saturday as they did in the previous game, to cheer Lobi Stars to secure victory for the country.
