LMC General Assembly Ratifies NPFL Start Date, Confirms Owumi As CEO

The 17 December kick-off date for the 2021-22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season has been approved by the General Assembly of the League Management Company (LMC).

The ratification of this season’s NPFL start date was one of several resolutions reached at the LMC’s General Assembly meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.

Addressing the media shortly after the meeting, Executive Secretary of the NPFL Club Owners Association, Alloy Chukwuemeka said the course of the 2021-22 NPFL season will be aligned with the international football calendar.

Chukwuemeka also revealed that the General Assembly endorsed the appointment of Prince Davidson Owumi as the new CEO of the League Management company LMC. Owumi was formerly the general manager of Enugu Rangers.

The LMC also revealed that more sponsors and partners would be unveiled ahead of the season’s kick-off which in addition to its NPFL TV streaming platform would boost revenues accruing to the league.
