Liverpool Sign Alisson In Record Deal For Goalkeeper

Premier League side Liverpool have completed the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma.

The 25-year-old joins the Reds from the Italian Serie A outfit after he put pen to paper on a long-term contract in a world record deal for a goalkeeper.

His transfer was confirmed by the Merseyside giants on Thursday night on their various social media portals.

His €75m (£57m) transfer fee surpasses the former record of €53m which took Italian football legend Gianlugi Buffon from Parma to fellow Italian side Juventus in 2001.

Alisson Becker joined AS Roma from Brazilian Serie A club Internacional in 2016 having worked his way through the club’s ranks.

He featured for the Brazilian national team at the just concluded FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Alisson kept three clean sheets in five games at the tournament but was unable to prevent the five-time world champions from crashing out in the quarterfinals following a 2-1 defeat to Belgium.
