Liverpool confirm Solanke Signing

Liverpool have completed the signing of former Chelsea starlet, Dominic Solanke, on a free transfer.

Solanke joined the Red’s after rejecting an offer from Chelsea to become Liverpool’s second major signing following Mohammed Salah’s arrival from Roma. However, Liverpool owes Chelsea a compensation fee because the striker is a homegrown player under 24 years of age.

The 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup Golden Ball winner told Liverpool’s official website: “It feels amazing and everyone has made me feel welcome already.”

“Even just pulling on the training top, I was over the moon. Hopefully, I can put on the shirt in the near future and make some good history here.”

It is uncertain if both clubs will agree on a compensation fee or go to the tribunal to determine the fee, as Liverpool valued the 19-year-old at £3m, but Chelsea wants £10m.
