Ligue 1 Review: The Olympiques Suffer UCL Qualification Dent With Respective Draws

Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon both suffered a slight dent to their quest for a top three spot and UEFA Champions League (UCL) spot next season with score draw in their respective league games.

Marseille scored on the stroke of fulltime via in-form Florian Thauvin to secure a 1-1 draw with 10-man Nantes who had Nicolas Pallios sent off towards the end of the encounter.

Leo Dubois had earlier given the visitors an 11th minute lead before Thauvin’s late intervention denied Claudio Ranieri’s side a famous win.

On their part, Lyon could only secure a 1-1 draw at Montpellier after Mariano Diaz’s second half goal cancelled out Isaac Mbenza’s 7th minute opener for the hosts.
