Ligue 1 Review: PSG Extend Lead With Slim Win As Monaco Thrash Angers Into Second Spot

Leaders Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have extended their lead at the top of the French Ligue 1 to 12 points after they secured a 1-0 win at Tolouse courtesy Neymar’s goal midway into the second half.

The Brazilian forward has now scored 11 goals in 7 matches in 2018.

PSG were 11 points clear of Olympique Marseille before the weekend’s set of games but a 2-2 draw at Saint Etienne for Rudi Garcia’s team on Friday night gave the capital club an opportunity to extend their advantage and it was gladly taken.

Champions Monaco also capitalised on the Marseille slip up to move into second place following a convincing 4-0 win at Angers courtesy goals from Ludovic Butelle (og), Stevan Jovetic (2) and Andrea Raggi.
