Ligue 1 Review: PSG Extend Lead With Convincing Montpellier Win

French Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint Germain (PSG) showed their powers of recovery once again after they bounced back from the recent blip against Lyon to thrash Montpellier 4-0 at the Parc Des Princes on Saturday evening.

The capital club had lost 2-1 to Lyon in their last league outing but that was not a spot of bother for the leaders who secured a big win courtesy goals from Edinson Cavani, Neymar (2) and Angel Di Maria to extend their lead at the top of the table to eleven points.

Cavani struck first to become the leading goalscorer in the history of PSG (157 goals) ahead of Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic before Neymar added a second goal from the penalty spot.

Argentine forward Di Maria and Neymar added second half goals to make it a comprehensive win for the Parisiens.
