Ligue 1 Review: Marseille Strengthen Top Three Hold With Win As Lyon Fail To Put Pressure On Leading Trio

Olympique Marseille have strengthened their grip on a top three place in the French Ligue 1 following their 1-0 win over Bordeaux on Sunday in what was a Matchday 26 clash.

In-form Florian Thauvin was the hero for Rudi Garcia’s men again as he scored the only of the game on 38 minutes to hand his side three crucial points in the race for the top three and UEFA Champions League (UCL) football next season.

Burkina Faso international Bertrand Traore scored a first half brace to put his side in a commanding lead before they were pegged back in the second half by the hosts courtesy goals from Pepe and Luiz Araujo.
