Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has undergone surgery on a fracture he suffered on his left hand last week Friday.
This was made known by his club in addition to the confirmation that he will be able to play despite the injury.

His injury status was revealed by his Bundesliga club, Mainz 05, via their official Twitter handle on Sunday: “@LeonBalogun suffered a fracture to his left hand on Friday and has undergone surgery. Luckily, he will be able to carry on playing.
“Get well soon, Leon!”
Leon Balogun had earlier played a major role for the Super Eagles in their impressive 4-2 win over Argentina on Tuesday before suffering the left hand fracture 72 hours later.
He was conspicuously absent for Mainz 05 on Saturday during their 1-0 league win over FC Cologne at the Opel Arena.
