The home-based Super Eagles have moved to the top of Group C at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) after they secured a slim 1-0 win over former leaders Libya in their second group clash.
The game in Tangiers was heading for a goalless draw outcome before forward Sunday Faleye pounced with eleven minutes remaining to give Nigeria victory at the expense of their North African opponents.
The win takes the CHAN Eagles to 4 points from 2 games ahead of Libya (3 points) with the team needing just a solitary point from their last group game against Equatorial Guinea to secure qualification for the quarter-final.
