La Liga Review: Valencia Close In On UCL Spot Despite Vigo Draw

Valencia have moved a step closer to cementing their place in the Spanish La Liga top four and also book a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League (UCL) despite being forced to a 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo.

Santi Mina gave Valencia the lead with 14 second half minutes gone only for the hosts to fightback through Maximiliano Gomez four minutes later as both sides played out a 1-1 draw in the Matchday 34 clash.

Valencia (66 points) stay in 4th spot with the point as they missed out on the opportunity to go level with third-placed Real Madrid while Celta Vigo (45 points) also maintain their 10th position.

In the other game played on Saturday, Getafe are up to eighth spot on the league table following their 1-0 win at Eibar.
