La Liga Review: Top Four Teams Secure Wins To Further Strengthen League And UCL Bid 

Three of the top four teams secured victories in their respective Spanish La Liga Matchday 28 clashes to further strengthen their various spots in the race for both the league title and UEFA Champions League qualification for next season.

League leaders Barcelona moved 11 points clear of second placed Atletico Madrid after they defeated basement club Malaga 2-0 away from home.

Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho scored in the first half to give the Catalan giants the win against a Malaga side that played the majority of the game with 10 men after Samuel Garcia was sent off in the first half.

Champions Real Madrid had earlier cemented third place with a late win over their hosts Eibar courtesy a brace from star forward Cristiano Ronaldo either side of halftime.

Ronaldo scored in each half to hand Real Madrid the points with Ivan Ramis getting the equaliser for Eibar in the 50th minute in between his goals.

Valencia, in 4th place, also secured a crucial victory at Sevilla with Spanish international Rodrigo getting the two goals in a 2-0 win at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Saturday evening.
