Villareal have booked a spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League (UEL) in style following their 1-0 home win over rivals Valencia in a Matchday 36 clash played on Saturday night.

Mario Gaspar was the hero for the Yellow Submarines as he scored the only goal of the game with four minutes left to hand his side the maximum points.

The win ensured that Villareal (57 points) book their UEL spot for next season despite staying in 6th place while Valencia (67 points) also stay in 4th spot with the defeat having already qualified for the Champions League next season.
